PowerUnit™

Users GuidePowerKit Variable Speed Motor

Thank you for buying this Inland product. The PowerKits™ Systems' key benefit is that a single MainFrame™ and PowerUnit™ combine with any of the AddOn™ kits to create a complete line of wet or dry operating benchtop power tools. Start off with the basic machine you need now and expand your system as you desire without the expense of purchasing a complete machine each time. Inland makes dozens of accessories for use with your PowerKits™ system that further increase its versatility and affordability.

Safety

The PowerUnit™
The quick change PowerUnit™ is the heart of the PowerKits™ System. It twists and locks into place making it easy to quickly move between setups. This portability is the secret that dramatically reduces the cost of owning multiple power tools in the PowerKits™ System. The Single Speed PowerUnit™ can be used on most machines. The Variable Speed Reversible PowerUnit™ allows you to adjust the working speed for different machines and materials for the most effective operation. It is reversible which makes it even more flexible. Both PowerUnit™ models have high torque motors to power your system.

PowerUnit™ Assembly
The Power Unit comes completely assembled. The motor shaft is a two part system. Depending on the AddOn™ kit being used, you may want to remove the shaft extender. It is a reverse threaded piece about 1 ½" long. Using a pair of soft jawed pliers, grip the shaft at the base of the "flat". Then grab the shaft at the end, and unscrew it, remembering that it is a reverse thread screw. Save the shaft extender in a place that you can find it when you need it. The motor shafts are constructed using matched pairs of components. The truest running shaft extender will always be the one that came with the PowerUnit™ originally. Mounting instructions are found in the assembly section for the individual PowerKits™ AddOn™ Kits.

 PowerUnit™ Maintenance

  1. Do Not remove the motor from its protective housing.
  2. Keep the PowerUnit™ free of debris.
  3. Always tighten any tool bits to the flat side of the motor shaft.
  4. If you are using the PowerKits™ in a wet operation, use MotorShaft Lubricant™ or a petroleum jelly on the motor shaft to help prevent the tool bits from getting stuck.
