SecondStory™ Work Surface
User Instructions

Thank you for buying this Inland grinder accessory. It’s designed to enhance your use and enjoyment of your glass grinder. Please read all the instructions to understand the correct components, set up, and use of this product.

Safety

It is extremely important to wear proper eye protection when using any glass grinder. We highly recommend that you wear safety goggles rather than safety glasses. You can also use the Inland FaceShield™ or MagnaShield™ in conjunction with proper eye wear for added protection. A shield alone is not adequate eye protection.

Compatibility
The Inland SecondStory™ Work Surface is designed to fit most grinders with an open grid surface. Use the diagram below for the proper peg location to fit your grinder.

  1. Find your grinder in the list below.

  2. The letter following your grinder corresponds to the proper location holes for the two pegs provided. Insert the pegs securely into the holes.

Operating Instructions

  1. Make sure that the standard bit is on the motor shaft below the grinding / drilling bit. This is added assurance that ground glass does not go down the motor shaft.

  2. Set the SecondStory™ Work Surface on top of the larger work surface over the bit so that the grinding / drilling bit comes up through the opening.

  3. Place and "L" shaped sponge into the SecondStory™ reservoir so that the foot of the "L" contacts the diamond surface of the grinding / drilling bit.

  4. Add coolant to the reservoir until the sponge it wet and the reservoir is full.

  5. You are now ready to grind as you normally would with any other bit.

Helpful Hints

  1. If a white powder forms around the bit as you grind, check the coolant reservoir and add coolant if needed. Gently hold the sponge against the bit with your forefinger as you grind.

  2. You will notice that grinding with smaller heads is slower than standard bits. This is due to the smaller diameter and is normal.

  3. Adjust the bit up and down slightly on the shaft to expose fresh diamond and spread the wear.
